This design is inspired by the art of “rock balancing”, where natural stones are stacked on top of each other in pillars of varying heights, as if defying gravity.   The construction consists of metal, plywood and polyurethane foam in upholstered parts.

CHAIR BALANCE — fabrics, dimensions and 3D files

Balance is a dining chair by Dmytro Kozinenko, inspired by rock balancing — natural stones stacked in pillars of different heights, as if defying gravity. The seat and the half-round backrest are two separate volumes held by a slim steel frame; the construction is metal, plywood and polyurethane foam in the upholstered parts. Made to order in 5 weeks, ships assembled, worldwide delivery.

Dimensions and materials

Width 64 cm, depth 53.5 cm, height 69 cm (25.2 × 21 × 27.2 in); seat height 46.5 cm (18.3 in); weight 12 kg. Frame: powder-coated steel, black RAL 9005 (other RAL colours on request).

Upholstery: 18 fabrics in 325 colourways — Kvadrat, Dedar and WOO collections. The real fabrics are shown in the 3D configurator on this page. Free fabric samples (up to 5 swatches) are shipped worldwide.
